MOTIVE FOR PACQUIAO?S DISAPPEARING ACT AT LAX REVEALED

PhilBoxing.com

Beverly Hills, CA:- Last Wednesday night, at the LAX a large crowd of well-wishers, fans, friends and media people were at the Tom Bradley International Terminal at the LAX waiting to greet the Filipino boxing idol as he planes in from Manila.

The crowd included the respected head spin masters at Top Rank, Lee Samuels and Ricardo Jimenez. There too was Pacquiao LA security chief, Rob Peters and a multitude of well-known media people.

The tension amongst the crowd gradually increased as the arrival time approached. But as usual, the PAL was late. It did not matter however as the crowd is used to such PAL scheduling, much more waiting for Pacquiao.

A few minutes after the plane landed, passengers started to trickle out from the custom and immigration area. It was easy to tell to tell which ones were from the PAL flight. The balikbayan boxes betrayed them.

Eventually, Nick Giongco and Abac Cordero, two of the top Filipino sports writers came through the arrival ramp. When they stopped to chat with the media people waiting for Pacquiao, Cordero revealed that Pacquiao took the VIP outlet and eventually disappeared into the night.

When the word leaked out that Pacquiao was gone, people waiting were flabbergasted.

Why would their boxing hero do that to them? Is he now so big that he can afford to avoid his fans who he knew based on his previous arrival experiences, had been waiting for hours just to have a glimpse of him?

Even Samuels and Jimenez were clueless when asked why Pacquiao did not use the usual arrival ramp. Peters was seen running around trying to find out where his boss was.

No one can say why he disappeared. Not even his LA publicist, Winchell Campos.

One thing for sure was there was no truth to the speculations that Pacquiao have maliciously avoided his fans and the media. His ?disappearing act? has more to it than that.

Yesterday, at the press conference at the Beverly Hills Hotel, everything was revealed.

When Pacquiao walked in to the conference room, he was sporting a new hairdo!

Pacquiao apparently skipped the crowd at the LAX so that the media will not get a hang of his new hair style. He wanted to milk it to the max at the media conference. Perhaps they say it has something to do with his shampoo commercial back in the Philippines.

Nothing wrong with that. After all, he is now a cross-over star and can do what he pleases. Of course, to a certain limit and without hurting his ?clean? image.

Many in the crowd say that Pacquiao?s new hair style was awfully close to that of Justin Beiber, the Canadian pop star.

Regardless, people loved it.

?Ang pogi niya? (He is so handsome!) one Filipina at the crowd was heard to say.
