THE ROACH APPROACH

PhilBoxing.com

Dassault, Little Rock, AR -- "No, and I don't care."

That was the immediate response of the popular trainer Freddie Roach when I asked him if he did watch the Diaz-Marquez entertaining fight in Houston.

Right now Freddie only wants the Hatton fight. "I am not interested in fighting him again because we already knocked him down four times. Are you interested to watch a 3rd fight? Which one do you want to see, a third fight or a Hatton fight? Hhhmmm, after Hatton fight I want to see a third fight, I slowly replied.

But Freddie was very adamant that a third fight doesn't interest him at all.

Marquez can call out the retired Floyd Mayweather Jr. He can fight Mayweather (and I heard rumors from a reliable source that there is an early on-going talk right now putting Marquez against Floyd by August) if he likes, but for me the biggest fight right now is with Hatton, Europe vs. USA/Philippines. And we don't need Marquez, Roach told this reporter.

Roach approach is we don't need Marquez! Period. And this contradicts to the reports that labeled Marquez as the Sweet Scientist, The Man, and some reports claimed that Manny needs Marquez more to take away those thorns that clogs in Manny's heart.

If he is the Scientist, tell me who is Manny? Roach asked. And my humble reply was, Manny is just a mere Doctor.

Let's shift to Houston's Baby Bull, after he retired the former charismatic champion Acelino Popo Freitas, Juan Diaz called out Manny to fight real man his size. Eventually, Manny beat the giant (in all aspects) Oscar The Golden Boy Dela Hoya. The Baby Bull should be thankful that the former cigarette vendor now the most feared boxer in the planet didn't stop by in Houston.

Now I ask, between Dr. Pacquiao and Scientist Marquez, who fought the more difficult fight in their two previous fights? Secondly, who fought the more impressive fights?

Scientist Marquez - stopped the top two bosses in the crowded lightweight divisions, and thinking Casamayor and Diaz have never been stopped.

Dr. Pacquiao - stopped the now Manny's avid fan the lesser of the Diazes, David Diaz. He also stopped the soft liver Oscar Dela Hoya.

Design review tells me that both were very impressive in their last performances, the generative shape of making a third fight will extrude the popularity of boxing for this year. And we can merge both the Scientist and the Doctor again to close 2009 with a bang!

That is if Marquez can win the now rumored fight against Mayweather. If not, we'll just settle for a Doctor against Money.

Oh! BeerTime... How about the excessive holding by Hatton? I asked Roach... If you let him hold you then you are a fool fighter fighting against HoldingMan Hatton, Roach said. Zero crime also in Duljo, Cebu when Marquez fought Diaz, what happenned?...Where is former top writer Homer Sayson? He has been absent for a long time and rumors have it that he's been dodging several monetary claims by creditors? Several writing top brass confirm indeed he has monetary problems.

Kumbatea!
