Undefeated Filipino rising prospects Berland Robles and Ian Abne clinched WBA regional titles, defeating their Chinese opponents in the twin main events of ARQ's Engkwentro 14 held Saturday night at the Bulacao Gym in Talisay City.

Robles (11-0-1, 4 KOs), fighting out of Cebu City, relied on an early lead to secure a majority decision victory over Chenghao Luo (7-2-1, 4 KOs) from Guizhou, China. Despite fading in the final two rounds of their scheduled 10-round flyweight bout, Robles emerged victorious to claim the WBA Asia South Flyweight title. The judges scored the fight: Edgar Olalo 95-95 (draw), Greg Ortega 96-94, and Tony Pesons 97-93 in favor of Robles.

Meanwhile, Ian Abne (12-0-1, 4 KOs), from Manticao, Misamis Oriental, delivered a dominant performance against Jin Ping Yang (5-5-1, 1 KO) of Yunnan, China. Over 10 rounds, Abne thoroughly outclassed his opponent, earning a wide unanimous decision and the WBA Asia South Minimumweight belt. The judges scored the fight: Edgar Olalo 92-98, Greg Ortega 91-99, and Tony Pesons 90-100, all in favor of Abne.

The two WBA title bouts were supervised by long-time WBA official Silvestre Abainza of the Philippines.

Undercard Results:

Rodel Wenceslao (22-19-2, 11 KOs) of Mandaue, Cebu defeated Ryan Sermona (21-13-1, 14 KOs) of Himamaylan, Negros Occidental via 4th-round TKO. The fight was stopped on the advice of the ring physician after Sermona suffered a severe cut on his face.

April Jay Abne (15-1-0, 6 KOs) of Manticao, Misamis Oriental won a unanimous decision over Anferme Palarca (5-6-1, 1 KO) of Las Piñas, Metro Manila in their 8-round bantamweight bout.

Angelus Pilapil (4-0-0, 2 KOs) of Cebu City defeated Mohaleden Kalibo (3-1-0, 2 KOs) of Midsayap, Cotabato by unanimous decision in their 6-round super flyweight contest.

The event was promoted by ARQ Promotions.
