PECA throws support to CAPEX Cargo International Open online chess tourney

Manila---The CAPEX Cargo International Open Chess Championship, which will resume on August 8, 2020, gets a big boost as Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) announced its sponsorship of the online tournament featuring the country’s aspiring and finest woodpushers at the lichess.org.
"In behalf of the Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA), we will support the CAPEX Cargo International Open Chess Championship," said PECA president Dr. Alfredo "Fred" Paez, who is also the Southern Luzon Assistant Executive Director of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) headed by it's chairman/president Rep. Prospero "Butch" Arreza Pichay Jr.
The CAPEX Cargo International Open Online Chess Championship is back in opening opportunities for aspiring chessers that aim develop their skills according to multi-titled coach National Master (NM) Homer Cunanan who put up this event together with chess benefactor engineer Vergil Jurado Bargola and veteran campaigner Rodolfo "Jun" Panopio Jr.
It will be a eleven-round Swiss System, three minutes time control format.
The registration is pegged at P50 while USD$2.50 through paypal.
The champion will take home P1,500, while the second to fourth will receive P1,000, P700, and P400, respectively while fifth to tenth will get P200 each.
Category winners for the top three non-master, top kiddy, top lady and top junior will also likewise to get cash prizes.-Marlon Bernardino-
