KHAN SAYS HE CAN FILL A UK STADIUM IF HE FIGHTS PACQUIAO
By Maloney L. Samaco PhilBoxing.com Mon, 20 Aug 2018

Amir Khan believes he can fill a United Kingdom stadium and named Manny Pacquiao as the opponent who can help him do it. The 2012 Olympic silver medalist climbs back on the ring against Samuel Vargas on September 8 in Birmingham. This will be his his second successive fight at home.
Khan described Pacquiao as a good fighter, a slick fighter, a huge name in boxing. He is sure that if the fighting senator comes to the UK, the UK fans would come to see him.
Promoter Eddie Hearn is planning a December fight at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Khan is convinced he can follow Anthony Joshua's accomplishments and entice Pacquiao to fight him in the UK.
"I can't afford to look past this fight and I'm not really paying any attention to it, but I have read a few things about Eddie talking to people and Eddie wanting me to fight before the end of the year, so let's see," Khan told Sky Sports.
"But I really do believe I am one of the few who can sell out a stadium in the UK. It's more than just the stadium, it's the personality and person who sells that fight and it's the dance partner, as well. I am a prizefighter but it goes beyond that. Be it in Vegas, or in the UK, or anywhere in the world, it's an event when I fight," added Khan.
The former world light-welterweight champion said Floyd Mayweather was the one who when he put up a fight, didn't call it a fight, but he called it an event.
"Boxing is a business, it's about putting bums on seats and it's all about putting on a good show so people will come back for the next one," said the former Commonwealth lightweight champion.
Both Khan and Pacquiao worked with trainer Freddie Roach and they have separated themselves from the Wild Card Gym.
"There's a lot of history between us: we've been sparring partners, we've trained together, we've got similar styles," Khan said.
