SPORTS ROUNDUP 15 : WHERE'S THE NEXT PACQUIAO FIGHT - HONGKONG, MIDDLE EAST, SOUTHEAST ASIA, LONDON, U.S.A. OR PHILIPPINES?

PhilBoxing.com

Arnold Vegafria, Manny Pacquiao?s business manager, announced that the Middle East, another Southeast Asian City, or Hong Kong, could be host the fighting senator's next fight after his impressive win over Argentine Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the South China Morning Post reported.

The presence of several Filipino workers and tourists in the Special Administrative Region and its proximity to the Philippines will make it an ideal location for the next Pacquiao fight.

?Why not? Hong Kong is part of China and we are trying to promote boxing in China. And we?ve been to Macau in the past so it?s possible,? said Vegafria in the Post.

However Pacquiao also has plans of making a return to the US since his last fight there was yet in 2016 against Jesse Vargas.

"We are still looking around. We want to fight in the Middle East, we also want to fight in Southeast Asia but we want to have it in Asia,? said Vegafria, who played a key role in Pacquiao?s appearance in Malaysia.

With Asia particluarly Hongkong being mentioned as a possible site for the next fight, London is also rumored especially if a deal with British star Amir Khan, a former Pacman co-trainee of Freddie Roach, can be signed.

One Championship, Asia?s largest martial arts promotion through its founder Chatri Sityodtong, also wants to bring Pacquiao's fight back home here in the Philippines.

All these places are just possible locations for the next Pacquiao match. As he continues to be a global icon of the sport, no matter where he goes, his fight is a sure sellout.

Former New York Knick John Starks told Brandon Robinson on Scoop B Radio that Michael Jordan has a stronger legacy because he played for just one team for the majority of his career and didn't sign up with other organizations just to form a superteam:

"Mike did all his championships on one team and guys wanted to play for him. Scottie (Pippen) and Horace (Grant), he kind of raised those guys. Later on when he got back, other guys like (Dennis) Rodman and (Ron) Harper joined the team," said Starks.

The retired New York shooting guard added that Jordan did not transfer from one team to another and that he wanted to play against the best. He said MJ just did not chase players to join his team to beat the best because he felt like he was the best.

"I think that's probably going to hurt LeBron when you look at it in that perspective against Michael, (Larry) Birdand Magic (Johnson). Those guys stayed with one team, and they won with that team," commented Starks.

James is now on his third NBA team the Los Angeles Lakers. He played the first seven years of his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers then transferred to team up with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh at the Miami Heat for four years to win two NBA titles. He then returned home to Ohio to lead the Cavaliers to four consecutive NBA Finals and the franchise's first-ever championship.

San Miguel Beermen enjoys a 2-1 lead in their PBA Commissioner's Cup finals series by wrecking the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings, 132-94, in Game 3. With the win, it was the second straight game that SMB won by at least 25 points.

But Austria will not be complacent despite the very big margin of victory, saying it was still just one game.

"This win, even though it's a blowout, this is just one win," said Austria, who has coached San Miguel to six PBA titles, as quoted by ANS-CBN. "So, (it's) 2-1, and there's a long way to go."
