ROACH ONLY WANTS HORN FOR PACQUIAO; LONERGAN ASKS MCGREGOR HOW MUCH MONEY HE WANTS TO FIGHT HORN

Freddie Roach wants Manny Pacquiao to retire from boxing after a rematch with WBO welterweight world champion Jeff Horn who scored one of the most remarkable upsets in world championship boxing last July in Brisbabe. "I hope that he goes forward with that fight and that after it, he retires from boxing," said Roach to ESPN Deportes. "It is a fight that is supposed to take place next year, and the date could not be set due to Manny's work, regarding his duties within politics in his position as senator."

Horn is scheduled to face British contender Gary Corcoran in a title defense on December 13 in a fight in Brisbane that will be broadcasted by ESPN. Pacquiao semms to be on the twilight of his career and Roach is hoping that the eight division champion, in the event he defeats Horn in their rematch, hangs up his gloves . He does not want to see Pacquiao (59-7-2, 38 KO's) clash with any other fighter aside from Horn (17-0-1, 11 KOs) or face any other foe after Horn.

The rematch originally intended for November, was postponed indefinitely citing Pacquiao's pressing senate duties. Roach said he had talked with Manny about his conflicting jobs as a boxer and as a legislator and both demand a lot of responsibility, dedication and a lot of time. Roach concluded by saying he does not want see Pacquiao in a sorry situation in the sport that made him an eight division world champion. He could not bear seeing Pacquiao other than as a world champion.

Jeff Horn is aiming to fight UFC champion Conor McGregor in the boxing ring. ''It would be the easiest fight of my career,?? Horn told The Courier Mail. "If it?s under boxing rules McGregor has no chance." Horn saw the fatigue factor of the Irish UFC fighter who was forced to fight Floyd Mayweather for ten rounds in the ring as compared to a maximum of five in the octagon. In rounds 9 and 10, Mayweather landed a series of punches to McGregor's face, forcing referee Robert Byrd to stop the fight.

He said he watched McGregor?s fight with Floyd Mayweather and Floyd stopped him when he was tired even though Floyd was inactive for a couple of years. "I would bring a lot more pressure on McGregor right from the opening bell and I hit a lot harder than Floyd too," said Horn. "If the fight can be made I?d love it. To bring McGregor to Australia like we did with Manny Pacquiao would be a terrific event. He?s a big name and I think the crowd here would love to see me beat him."

UFC President Dana White was earlier quoted that Horn had no chance of landing a boxing match with McGregor. But Horn?s promoter Dean Lonergan is making an offer that McGregor would find it hard to refuse. ?We?d love to have Manny Pacquiao in Brisbane again but there has been talk about Jeff against Conor McGregor and it?s a huge fight. We?re putting the challenge out to McGregor, tell us how much money you want and we?ll see if we can make it happen," Lonergan said.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya believes WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) should be a superstar now. If Golden Boy had continued promoting him, Joshua would be the one chasing Wilder for a fight. "I promoted Deontay Wilder during his first 33 fights and I made him a champion. If I were his promoter, he would be a star and Anthony Joshua would beg for the fight and not the way it is happening right now," said De La Hoya to ESPN Deportes.

Their relationship ended in January 2015, after Wilder won the WBC title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Bermane Stiverne at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The three official judges scored it 118-109, 119-108, 120-107. Stiverne landed 110 of 327 punches (34%) with Wilder landing 227 of 621 punches (37%). The alliance was broken when Wilder's main manager, Al Haymon, breaks with Golden Boy. He took his stable of fighters to establish the Premier Boxing Champions.

Since leaving Golden Boy, Wilder, who last Saturday night demolished Stiverne in the first round of their mandated rematch, has been actively chasing IBF, IBO, WBA world champion Anthony Joshua for a unification showdown. Joshua wants to fight three times in 2018, against Wilder, then against the WBO champion Joseph Parker, and once either against a mandatory challenger or even Tyson Fury If Wilder fails to get Joshua in the ring, one of the contenders to face him is Dominic Breazeale.

Two judges saw it 96-94 for Pe?alosa, while the other judge scored it 96-94 for Amit.
