Saturday night at the IEC Convention Center in Mabolo, this city: In the main event, Mark 'Magnifico' Magsayo of the Philippines knocks down Daniel 'El Heneral' Diaz of Nicaragua three times en route to a first round stoppage. Time: 1:45 in the first round. Magsayo (17-0-0, 13KOs) successfully defended his WBO International featherweight title Diaz absorbs his 8th loss and dropped to 23-8-2. In the co-main event, knockout artist Jeo 'Santino' Santisima (14-2-0, 12KOs) stopped the aggressive Goodluck Mrema (16-1-0, 8KOs) of Tanzania in the first round in their 10-round scheduled super bantamweight bout. Time of stoppage is at 1:18 of the first round. Santisima showed his superior skill and awesome power by connecting two solid left to the head of Mrema early in the round and followed it up with a thundering right overhand that landed squarely to the jaw of Mrema who fell like a log. Mrema struggled to get up to beat the count but his legs could not support him and Referee Tony Pesons waived off the contest. Santisima recorded his 12th straight win, 11 by knockouts. Magsayo downs Diaz. Santisima drops Mrema like a log in 1st round action of the 10-round scheduled super bantamweight bout. Pagara stops Kaewmanee in 4th. Joey Canoy (R) celebrates after beating Jerusalem. Comebacking Albert Pagara (28-1-0, 19KOs) won by 4th round knockout over journeyman Aekkawee Kaewmanee (16-10-0, 6KOs) of Thailand. Kaewmanee entertained the crowd by his showboating, taunting Pagara to hit him and throwing quick counters to the at times tentative Pagara. But the entertainment suddenly stopped when Pagara connected with a vicious left uppercut to the liver of Kaewmanee who dropped to the canvas and stayed there for several minutes. He was carried on stretcher out of the ring and brought to the hospital for pre-caution. Jason Canoy (13-3-1, 6KOs) defeated Melvin Jerusalem (11-2-0, 7KOs) in a fight that featured speed and quickness from both fighters. Canoy scored a knockdown in round 7 and Jerusalem was deducted a point in round 8 for repeated low blows that sealed Canoy's victory. Scores: 95-93, 95-93 and 97-92 all for Canoy. Both Canoy and Jerusalem fought for a world title in their previous fights. Canoy fought Hekkie Budler of South Africa for the vacant IBO world light flyweight title and Jerusalem challenged WBC world champion Chayaphon Moonsri of Thailand. Both lost by decision. In other results: Kevin Jake Cataraja (6-0-0, 5KOs) stopped Lony Cadayday (4-2-2, 1KO) in the first round. Junrel Jimenez (8-2-0, 4KOs) won by TKO 3 over Margarito Moya (9-4-0, 3KOs) Esneth Domingo (7-0-0, 5KOs) won by UD over John Kenan Villaflor (6-3-3, 2KOs) Jeno Macapobre (1-0-0, 0KOs) won his professional debut over Rolien Getalada (0-4-0).
