LEAGUE OF FISTS II: SATURDAY NIGHT TKO?S By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sun, 26 Jun 2016 SHANGHAI, CHINA - There were ten four round bouts on tap with boxers fighting in the super flyweight, super lightweight and middleweight categories. Li Leshan set the tone for the evening when he knocked out Liu Xue in 1:28 of the first round. Referee Han Hongxiang stopped it after Li battered and sent Liu down in the neutral corner in the opening super lightweight contest. Middleweight Wulamu Tulake continued his streak in season two with a first round TKO win over Yelijipu Ayati. Referee Surat Soikrachang called a halt when Yelijipu was toppled by a heavy barrage in his own corner. Time 1:37. Zhao Jun needed only 53 seconds to win against Yusupu Jiahan in their super flyweight match-up after Mekin Sumon stopped the fight when Jiahan kept on running and turning his back. Super lightweight Yang Yongqiang moved up to 4-0,4KO?s with a second round knockout win over Guo Longlong, who was dropped with a hard body shot. Kenbati Haiyilao got a split decision verdict against Liu Yang in their middleweight contest. Scores ? Sungworn Klungboonkrung ? 39-37 for Liu with two votes from Mekin Sumon (39-37) and Surat Soikrachang (39-37) for Kenbati. Naiwuzhati dropped Wang Yangyang in the third and fired another series of hard shots when Wang got up prompting Referee Sungworn Klungboonkrong to stop the fight at the 1:10 mark in this super flyweight bout. Jiang Zhihao got a hard earned unanimous decision win over Sun Xianben in their superlightweight contest. Jiang fought through a cut and a hematoma on his right cheekbone to prevail ? Judges Edward Ligas ? 39-37, Zhao Yubin ? 39-37, Han Hongxiang ? 40-36. In another superflywieght bout, Hu Laing beat an overmatched Yang Xulin by TKO in 2:22 of the opening round. In another middleweight clash, Liu Liang made up for his size disadvantage with toughness and determination when he decked Maheshati Bolatihan in the fourth and final round and won by the skin of his teeth in the judges scores ? 38-37- from Sawaeng Thaweekoon, Surat Soikrachang and Yin Haiyang. For the last bout of the night, super flyweight Su Yinhuan pummeled Xie Xing for three rounds, drawing blood from the nose. Referee Sawaeng Thaweekoon stopped it at 2:33. The June 25 bouts were held in Yun Space and officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China. SEASON ONE FINALS STARTS JUNE 26 SECA had a press launching for the first two finals bouts set in Yun Space, Elite Valley this Sunday. Xu Que and Cheng Bingbing will dispute the WBO Greater China featherweight title while Niu Zhongjie and Weng Tao will fight for the WBO Greater China championship in the 140lb division. WBO VP for Asia-Pacific Leon Panoncillo was on hand and spoke about the significance of the title belt which will lead to a shot at a regional title and world ranking. The League of Fists is promoted by TOP RANK and SECA. The June 26 show will also have five season two bouts and one six rounder.
