ALBERT PAGARA EXCITED TO TAKE ON CESAR JUAREZ By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sun, 15 May 2016 CEBU ? Undefeated super bantamweight title contender 'Prince' Albert Pagara says he is excited to face Mexican slugger Cesar Juarez who brought Filipino WBO world champion Nonito Donaire Jr into deep waters in their 'fight of the year' championship bout last Dec. 11, 2015. Pagara and Juarez will headline ALA Promotions International's card at the San Mateo County Event Center in San Mateo, CA on July 9. ?Maayo na nga away para masukod gyud kon asa na ko kutob (It's a good fight for me so I will know what level I am right now),? Pagara, who leaves for the US Monday, told Cebu mediamen Saturday night in a send-off dinner at the Abuha Tres restaurant at the IT Park here. Pagara (26-0-0, 18KO), rated No. 2 by the WBO and No. 4 by the IBF at super bantamweight, said he has seen Juarez's fights on video many times and wary of Juarez's pressure style of fighting. ?I have to use my footwork and improve my stamina to win against him,? Pagara said. Juarez (17-5-0, 13KO) from Mexico City, however, lost his last fight against compatriot Giovanni Delgado in a 10-round split decision after the Donaire fight and quite tellingly, also lost to fellow Mexican Hugo Partida by majority decision, the same Partida whom Pagara knocked out in the first round on June 21, 2014 in Cebu. Pagara came from a dominating performance against Yesner Talavera of Nicaragua last Feb. 27 at Cebu's Waterfront Hotel after previously stopping his three opponents in Manila, Dubai and California. Pagara will continue training at Roach's Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles where he hope to get quality sparrings. ?I like to train at the Wildcard Gym because Coach Roach always gives me good sparring partners,? Pagara said who informed that he had quality sparring with Julian Raminez, Golden Boy's undefeated 23-year-old featherweight, before his last fight against William Gonzalez of Nicaragua in October last year in Carson, California. ?I also like to run at Griffith Park and do roadwork in Los Angeles because the air is clean and there is less traffic,? Pagara, who recently got married to a Cebuana lass, said. Pagara will be accompanied by ALA Gym trainer Edmund Villamor to the US Monday where they will pass by San Francisco before proceeding to Los Angeles to buckle down for serious training.
