LOS ANGELES -- The Cleveland Cavaliers went on a 3-point rampage to handily beat the Los Angeles Clippers, 114-90, on Sunday afternoon at the Staples Center.
The Cavs drained 18 triples against the Clippers' 10 for a healthy 24-point edge on long-distance. Cleveland also made 48.8 percent of their field goals overall while Los Angeles, which dropped to 42-23 and 4th place in the Western Conference, converted only 32 of 79 from the field (40.5 percent).
LeBron James notched 27 points, six rebounds and five assists for Cleveland while teammates J.R. Smith and Kyrie Irving logged 17 apiece. Channing Frye finished with 15 while Kevin Love added 12 and none boards for the Cavs, who improved to 47-18, No.1 in the Eastern Conference.
"We took care of business," LeBron James told NBA.com after Cleveland increased lead to 2.5 games over the surging 44-20 Toronto Raptors.
J.J. Redick was the main man for the Clippers with 19 markers. Chris Paul had 17 and 10 assists but the All-Star point guard struggled with four turnovers.
