SUAREZ VOWS TO KNOCK MAGSAYO OUT By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Fri, 16 Oct 2015 LOS ANGELES ? Undefeated Mexican prospect Yardley Suarez has promised to knock out equally undefeated Filipino prospect Mark 'Magnifico' Magsayo ahead of their IBF Youth featherweight title fight this coming Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila) on one of the feature fights on 'Pinoy Pride 33 ? The Philippines vs The World' at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA. Suarez (13-0-0, 8KO) worked out briefly at the Fortune Gym in Hollywood Wednesday afternoon and answered questions from the media. ?I will knock him out,? Yardley confidently told Philboxing thru an interpreter. ?I have power in both hands. If I'll him in the body or in the chin, he will go down,? Suarez said. Suarez, 21, will be fighting for the first time in the United States as all his fights so far were held in the province of Sinaloa in Mexico but coming to the US is actually a homecoming for him because he was born in nearby Sacramento. He was accompanied by his trainer Jose Luis Montes and matchmaker Hector Zapari. The 20-year-old Magsayo (11-0-0, 9KO) is widely considered as one of the brightest prospects in the Philippines and a loss to Suarez will be a big blow to his rising career. Suarez and Magsayo will meet for the first time during today's official press conference which will be held at the Carson Civic Center starting at 11 a.m. Pinoy Pride 33 is the maiden US promotion of the Asia's biggest promotional company ALA Promotions International in cooperation with Philippine network giant ABS-CBS and its overseas arm TFC. The event will be headlined by long time Filipino WBO champion Donnie Nietes who will defend his title against No. 8 contender Juan Alejo. Also featured on the card is undefeated 'Prince' Albert Pagara vs William Gonzalez of Nicaragua for the WBO junior featherweight title and Jason Pagara who will take on Santos Benavidez of Nicaragua for 10-round junior welterweight bout. Also seeing action is comebacking Filipino-American IBA super flyweight champion Bruno Escalante. Escalante injured his hands and hasn't fought since April of last year. Escalante's opponent has yet to be announced. Also on the card is Adam Fiel who will go up against Michael Andrew Gaxiola.
