DONAIRE?S FATHER/TRAINER SAYS THEY ARE STILL WAITING FOR A DECISION ON NONITO?S NEXT FIGHT
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Mon, 21 Sep 2015

The father/trainer of five division world champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire has returned to his gym in Oakland, California as they await a decision on Nonito?s next fight, his possible opponent and date and venue.
This happened after WBA super bantamweight champion Scott Quigg (31-0-2, 28 KO?s) announced he wants to fight IBF champion Carl Frampton (21-0, 14 KO?s) and then face Donaire.
This was confirmed by Matchroom Sport owner Barry Hearn in an exchange of messages with us on twitter.
But ?Dodong? Donaire posed a valid question, ?how sure is he that he can beat Frampton, pointing out that Quigg ?is too slow, he?s an average fighter with no speed and no power.?
He recalled that Quigg caught Spain?s Kiko Martinez with a good uppercut and Martinez began to throw wild punches and was slowing down? before Quigg dropped him twice in the second round to win by a TKO on July 18 this year. On the same date Frampton won by a fairly comfortable twelve round unanimous decision over Alejandro Gonzalez Jr of Mexico at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.
He said Nonito is ?still doing his conditioning and I may go back to Las Vegas in the second week of October in preparation for a possible fight in December.?
?Dodong? Donaire also mentioned the fact that he needed to be back in his own gym since his fighter Joebert Alvarez is scheduled to fight Daniel Lozano in an eight round bout in Florida on October 23.
The 25 year old Alvarez is coming off a tough ten round decision loss to WBO/WBA flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada in Sonora, Mexico last December 6 while Lozano who lost his last two fights by decisions is also 25 years old and has a record of 13-3 with 10 knockouts and last week sparred with IBF Intercontinental super bantamweight champion Prince Albert Pagara.
