PAGARA BROTHERS, MAGSAYO IN EXCELLENT SPARRING SESSION AT WILD CARD GYM By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Sat, 12 Sep 2015 The Pagara brothers, WBO No. 2 light welterweight Jason Pagara and undefeated IBF International super bantamweight champion Prince Albert Pagara and undefeated IBF Youth featherweight champion Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo have had an excellent sparring session at the Wild Card Gym of Hal of Fame trainer Freddie Roach in Los Angeles. All three ALA boxers went four rounds each and trainer Edito ?Ala? Villamnor described it as ?good sparring and the boys are in very good condition.? Villamor told the New Standard/boxingmirror.com that Prince Albert Pagara sparred with southpaw Julian Ramirez, a featherweight with an unbeaten record of 14-0 with 8 knockouts. Magsayo went four rounds with Australia-based Armenian fighter Azat Hovhannisyan, a 27 year old super bantamweight with a record of 7-2 with 6 knockouts while Jasson Pagara went four ounds with California fighter Alimkhan Jumakhonov who has a record of 1-1-1 and is just 22 years of age. In the meantime ALA president Michael Aldeguer who has lined up three truly tough opponents for the inaugural promotion at the StubHub Center in Carson, California is waiting for the signed contracts to arrive before officially identifying the opponents. However, ABS-CBN consultant Peter Musgni who initially envisioned the highly successful ?Pinoy Pride? series informed us that Aldeguer was trying to sign up three top class opponents. Aldeguer a short while ago confirmed he had received a signed contract of Gonzalez and that IBF International super bantamweight champion Prince Albert Pagara will face Nicaragua?s 34 year old William ?Chirizo? Gonzalez, a southpaw with an impressive record of 23 knockouts in 27 wins with 5 defeats. Gonzalez won the vacant WBA NBO title with a stunning 7th round knockout of Cornelius Lock last May 9, 2014 after scoring a 3rd round TKO over Carlos Rivas in a scheduled eight round bout on March 16, 2013. Fight News reported that Gonzalez dropped Lock three times in an action-packed main event in Delaware. Lock who was fresh off am impressive 4th round one-sided stoppage of former USBA title holder Rogers Mtagawa looked confident in the opening round as he buckled the knees of Gonzalez with a counter leftin the opening round but Gonzalez, the heavier handed soon turned aggressor and pushed the attack by digging the body and landing heavy hooks. However, Gonzalez dropped a majority decision to Joseph Agbeko in an IBF bantamweight title fight on December 11, 2008 and suffered a 3rd round knockout loss to Jhonny Gonzalez in a WBO/NABO bantamweight title fight on September 1, 2005. 31 year old Jared Robinson of the United States who takes on Jason Pagara has a record of 15-2-1 with 7 knockouts and is coming off a split eighth round draw against Haskell Rhodes last June after he lost a ten round unanimous decision to Michael Perez in a WBA Fedelatin super lightweight title clash on September 6, 2014. Robinson also lost by a 4th round TKO to undefeated Amir Imam (12-0) on February 21, 2014. Aldeguer told us that undefeated Yardley Suarez of Sinaloa informed him his contract was on the way. Suarez of Mexico who has 8 knockouts in 13 wins will battle unbeaten Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo in a featherweight bout. Suarez is coming off a 9th round TKO in a scheduled ten round bout with Juan Beltran last August 14 after beating Adalberto Paredes on June 26.
