AWARD-WINNING AUSTRALIAN PROMOTER SAYS PACQUIAO DESERVES A REMATCH AFTER REVELATIONS ON MAYWEATHER'S VIOLATION OF WADA RULES By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Thu, 10 Sep 2015 Multi-titled Australian promoter Peter Maniatis says eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao deserves a rematch with undefeated pound for pound No.1 Floyd Mayweather Jr following revelations of Mayweather violated World Anti Doping Agency or WADA rules that prohibit allowing intravenous or IV injections a day before his May 2 fight with Pacquiao at Floyd's home and not a medical facility. Maniatis questioned the motives of the United States Anti Doping Agency which found the IV being administered when they went to Mayweather's house to conduct a random drug test on the eve of the Pacquiao fight and asked why did USADA take 20 days after the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight to notify the Nevada State Athletic Commission about the IV procedure that took place in Floyds house???" The well-known Australian promoter said "the IV administrated into Mayweathers body in his own house the day before the fight is prohibited by WADA as Floyd's house is not a medical facility and there was also no reason given to why was allowed to get away with this?" Maniatis also pointed out that the normal fee USADA charges to test boxers for a title fight is between $16,000 and up to $30,000 and posed the question as to why Maywether paid USADA a $150,000 to do the tests. He also recalled that "on the day of the fight Manny Pacquiao requested a pain killer "Toradol" which is a legal substance" for his injured rotator cuff to ease the pain to fight at his best but Pacquiao was denied by the Navada state athletic commission because the request was not made in a timely manner and Floyd has already admitted that he knew Manny had a injured shoulder before they stepped into the boxing ring." Maniatis insisted "Manny deserves a rematch and hopefully this time on even and fair playing field." Click here to view a list of other articles written by Ronnie Nathanielsz. |
