Bautista, Banal Update!
PhilBoxing.com Tue, 03 Apr 2007
Boxing manager Michael Aldeguer has informed the media that in his recent communication with Eric Gomez, Vice-President of Golden Boy Promotions, he officially confirmed that Rey ?Boom-boom? Bautista's fight with Sergio Medina on May 5, 2007 at the MGM will open the first of the three pay-per-view fight telecasts in the US headlined by Oscar de la Hoya and Flyod Mayweather.
Gomez further confirmed that AJ Banal fight is set for 10 rounds and the name of his opponent will soon be released to media shortly when the card is finally completed next week.
Meanwhile, ALA Gym and SGG Promotions are negotiating with ABS/CBN to include the fight of AJ Banal in their coverage of the May 5, 2007 boxing extravaganza in Las Vegas.
Both Bautista and Banal showed their fitness and readiness when they sparred impressively yesterday at the Wild Card Gym.
Boom-boom went six (6) rounds with two sparmates, namely Mike Franco and the undefeated Alejandro Perez while AJ Banal went six (6) rounds with another Mexican Speedy Gonzales.
To quote trainer Edito Villamor own words, ?Puro nindot ang sparring nila. Condition na ang mga bata.?
The two ALA gym stalwarts are set to leave for Puerto Rico anytime next week to join Oscar dela Hoya and Freddie Roach.
