Megrino Scores KO; Alolod Rocks Mancio To Capture GAB 108-lbs Title in Manila
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Fri, 16 May 2014

MANILA, Philippines - In an action-packed non-title clash, WBC Flyweight #9 Rey "Delubyo" Megrino of Misamis Occidental scored a round three knock out win over previously unbeaten Ernesto "Chocolate" Saulong (14-1-1, 5 KO's) of Mindoro Occidental Wednesday night (May 14) at the Hyatt Hotel in Metro Manila.
The more experienced Rey Megrino (21-20-3, 18 KO's) was too powerful and effective for the younger Saulong who had no weapons to counter the relentless attacks and skills of the world-ranked fighter of the Highland Boxing Stable.
In the exciting co-main event, 23-year-old southpaw "The Bulldozer" Benezer Alolod (14-5-5, 4 KO's) of Polomolok, Cotabato del Sur, bulldozed Jerson "Smooth Operator" Mancio (18-5-3, 9 KO's) by technical knock out to grab from him the coveted Games & Amusement Board (GAB) Jr. Flyweight (108 lbs) title.
In another result, 25-year-old Randy Megrino (15-17-2, 9 KO's) outpointed "Bad Boy" Desson Cag-ong (14-11, 8 KO's) of Leyte in their 10-rounder rumble in the featherweight division.
The exciting card Wednesday night card at the Hyatt Hotel in Metro Manila was a production of Thailand boxing promoter Naris Singwancha in association with Highland Boxing and Brunsmick Promotions.
