NBA -- Pacers keep best record with win over Lakers

LOS ANGELES -- The Indiana Pacers stayed on top of the NBA standings Tuesday night by dispatching the Los Angeles Lakers, 104-92, at the Staples Center.
The 35-9 Pacers showed the might of the league's best team as six of their players finished in double figures in points, including all of their starters.
David West topped with 19 points while Lance Stephenson added 15 and 14 boards. Paul George had a quiet 14, George Hill added 14 and seven assists and center Roy Hibbert tallied 11 and 10 rebounds. Danny Granger chipped in 10 off the bench.
Pau Gasol and Jodie Meeks registered 21 apiece for the Lakers. Nick Young had 12 and Kendall Marshall logged an impressive 11 points and 13 assists.
Still without Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, the Lakers managed to hung around the loaded Pacers and kept it close at 49-49 after two quarters. But the Pacers eventually pulled away with a 30-point third quarter.
The Lakers made only 37 of 84 field goals and dropped to 14th place in the Western Conference with a 16-30 record. (SD)
