Champion's Mindset: Gustavo Trujillo Ready to Defend BKB Heavyweight Title Against Mark O'Neil at BKB 58

Undefeated champion puts his perfect 8-0 record and streak of eight first-round knockouts on the line in Miami on August 29

MIAMI, Fl (July 27, 2026) — Undefeated BKB Heavyweight World Champion Gustavo "The Cuban Assassin" Trujillo (8-0, 8 KOs) will once again put his flawless record and his remarkable streak of eight consecutive first-round knockouts on the line when he defends his championship against veteran challenger Mark "The Veteran" O'Neil (3-4) at BKB 58 on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster.

One of the most dominant forces in Bare Knuckle Boxing today, Trujillo has quickly established himself as must-see entertainment with his devastating power and relentless pursuit of victory. Every one of his eight BKB appearances has ended in spectacular first-round fashion, making the Cuban powerhouse one of the sport's fastest-rising stars and one of its most feared champions.

Despite his perfect record, Trujillo, who is also undefeated in professional boxing (12-0, 11 KOs) and is ranked WBO #13, remains focused on the task ahead and refuses to overlook his next opponent. The reigning champion believes every title defense presents a new challenge and another opportunity to prove himself.

"I have a lot of respect for Mark O'Neil because he is a well-respected fighter in BKB and a true warrior," said Trujillo. "He's experienced, he's tough, and I know he'll be coming to take what I've worked so hard to earn. That's why I'm training harder than ever. As the reigning champion, I prepare for every fight as if I'm the one trying to win the title."

Winning the BKB Heavyweight World Championship fulfilled one of Trujillo's lifelong goals, but he insists the title has only fueled his desire to accomplish even greater things.

"Being the BKB heavyweight champion is an incredible honor," Trujillo said. "Every time I wear that belt, I represent my family, my team, my country, and everyone who has believed in me. It's something I never take for granted, and it motivates me every day to become an even better fighter and an even better person. I will do everything in my power to keep this belt around my waist."

Already recognized as one of the sport's most explosive finishers, Trujillo believes another successful title defense would continue building momentum for an even bigger future inside and outside the BKB ring.

"Every victory opens another door," Trujillo said. "I'm grateful for everything BKB has given me, but I'm still hungry. I want to continue defending my title, keep improving my skills, and show the world that I belong among the best heavyweight fighters anywhere. I know my journey is just getting started."

As Bare Knuckle Boxing continues its rapid growth, Trujillo is proud to be one of the athletes helping introduce the sport to a broader audience.

"BKB is growing because fans are seeing the heart, the skill, and the excitement that this sport delivers," said Trujillo. "People are realizing this isn't just about toughness, it's about skillset, preparation, and world-class competition. I'm proud to be part of helping BKB reach new fans around the world, especially as the main event in Miami, and I believe the future is brighter than ever."

According to Abe Swidan of Visionary Sports Group, Trujillo's rise has been no accident. The longtime manager credits the heavyweight champion's relentless work ethic, professionalism, and willingness to challenge himself against elite competition.

"Gustavo has earned everything he's accomplished," said Abe Swidan, President of Visionary Sports Group. "From the moment he entered BKB, he's approached every fight with the mindset of a true champion. His success in bare knuckle competition has only strengthened his overall profile as a heavyweight, and we're continuing to build opportunities for him both inside BKB and in traditional boxing. The exciting part is that we still believe his best performances are ahead of him."
