NBA -- Warriors get over Thunder, dump Pelicans, 97-87
By Ryan Medida PhilBoxing.com Mon, 20 Jan 2014

SAN FRANCISCO -- Barely 24 hours after Kevin Durant rained 54 points on them in a 127-121 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors went right back on track Saturday night at the New Orleans Arena.
Steph Curry scored 26 points, eight assists and four steals and David Lee added 22 points and eight rebounds to propel the Warriors to a 97-87 victory over the host New Orleans Pelicans.
Tyreke Evans and Andre Iguodala combined for 22 and the Warriors improved to 26-16.
The Pelicans played without three of their best players -- Jason Smith (right knee), Jrue Holiday (stress fracture, right tibia) and Ryan Anderson (herniated disc).
But Pelicans head coach Monty Williams refused to use it as an excuse and told NBA.com, "The reality is that's on me. Nobody is going to look at this team and look at skids like this and look at the players. These guys are fighting their tails off."
Anthony David led New Orleans with 31 points and 17 rebounds but the Pelicans have lost eight in a row and dropped to 15-24. (RM)
