NBA -- Wizards stop Bulls' streak with 102-88 win

CHICAGO - The Chicago Bulls' win streak ended at five Monday night when they lost the Washington Wizards, 102-88, at the United Center.
With the loss, the missed the chance to hit the .500 mark in the New Year. Instead, they fell to 17-19.
The Wizards started out strong, leading by eight points before the Bulls even got on the board. The second quarter continued in much of the same fashion - with the Bulls chasing the Wizards - as they left the half down 43-56.
The Bulls crawled their way back into the game in the third quarter, coming within four points of the Wizards. But, with 2:49 left in the quarter, the Wizards hit three consecutive 3-pointers securing their lead for what would end up being the game.
The Bulls were led by Carlos Boozer, who scored 19 on the night. Jimmy Butler and Tony Snell each added 12 points for Chicago while D.J. Augustin struggled to make his shots and left the game with only seven points. Notably, Nazr Mohammed left the game during the first half with a middle finger sprain.
Shooting at 59%, the Wizards were led by John Wall and Nene who each scored 19 points. Trevor Ariza followed close behind with 16 points for his team. (KB)
