NBA -- Bulls ship Deng to Cavs for Bynum, picks

CHICAGO -- After nearly 10 seasons, Luol Deng's highly productive days as a Chicago Bull came to an abrupt end today.
The 6-foot-9, 220-pound Deng, an all-purpose small forward whom Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau often refers to as the team's "glue" was shipped to the Cleveland Cavaliers for center Andrew Bynum and a few picks.
It was a business decision that will save the Bulls an estimated $20 million in salaries and luxury tax penalties, ESPN Chicago said. The Bulls promptly waived Bynum by 5 pm Tuesday, clearing his $12 million salary off the books.
Deng played in 637 regular season games and had 48 playoffs appearances as a Bull. With 10,286 points to his name, he is fourth in the all-time list of Bulls' scorers, trailing only Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Bob Love. (JAM)
