NBA -- Bulls eye first win, host Knicks

CHICAGO. ? The Chicago Bulls will host their home season opener Thursday night at the United Center against Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks.
Clobbered by the two-time defending champions Miami Heat, 107-95, at the American Airlines Arena on October 29, the Bulls will try to avoid a Halloween night upset at the hands of a promising Knicks teams, the reigning Atlantic Division champions in the Eastern Conference.
The Bulls, who went undefeated at 8-0 during the preseason, are 0-1 and will attempt to get on track in The House that Michael Built.
Ravaged by injuries in the exhibition season, the Bulls welcomed back point guard Kirk Hinrich and All-Star center Joakim Noah back in action last Tuesday. Asked about the Bulls loss to the Heat, Noah said ?I think we were a little stagnant offensively but defensively we didn?t do very well either. We weren?t all on the same page.?
Noah?s sentiment was right on track as Carlos Boozer, scoring 31, was the only Bulls player to walk away from the game with great numbers.
The Bulls hope to do better offensively against the Anthony and Metta World Peace led Knicks, who kicked off their season with a 90-83 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. (KB)
