NBA -- Blake, Gasol power Lakers past Nuggets

LOS ANGELES -- Steve Blake and Pau Gasol combined for 30 points to help the Los Angeles Lakers nip the Denver Nuggets, 90-88, Tuesday night at the Citizen's Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.
Playing the point guard slot in relief of starter Steve Nash, Blake also finished with three assists and two rebounds while Gasol hauled in eight rebounds while shooting 6-for-11 from the field.
Newly-acquired center Chris Kaman tallied 12 points and seven rebounds while Nick Young added 10 for the Lakers.
Javale McGee led the Nuggets with 14 markers and seven boards while J.J. Hickson chipped in 13 but Denver made only 30 of 91 field goals to drop to 1-1 in preseason play. (SD)
