Green injured, Sharp steps in to fight Lucas at Thunderdome III
By Brett Bonetti PhilBoxing.com Thu, 29 Aug 2013
Luke ?Razor? Sharp (6-0-2) will step in to take on MMA star Xavier ?X Man? Lucas (6-1-1, 4KO?s) for the vacant Western Australian State Light Heavyweight Title on Friday night at Dragon Fire Promotions Thunderdome III at Metro City Perth, Australia.
Andrew ?Widow Maker? Green (10-0-1, 5 KO?s) was forced to withdraw when he injured his shoulder today in a final sparring session with Sharp.
Sharp is coming off an impressive victory over the experienced ?Baby? Pete Mitrevski Jr. (23-9-1, 11 KO?s) at Thunderdome II last month when he claimed the IBO Asia Pacific Middleweight title.
Sharp?s trainer Dave Hassan to the West Australian today "Andrew has had shoulder problems before but this is really tough for him.?
"We thought about putting it back in and letting him fight but that wouldn't have been fair on anyone, especially if it came out again during the fight? Hassan said
"Luckily Luke was on hand and he said he wanted to face the 'X-Man' Lucas?
"Luke will be stepping up from Middleweight so he's obviously going to be the smaller man but we feel he'll be too slick and too quick for Lucas? Hassan said
Hassan also said a decision will be made soon on whether Green will have surgery to fix his shoulder.
