Reymond Yanong Edges Out Hayato Ono for Split Decision Win in Japan
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Tue, 03 Feb 2026

Filipino fans got a treat today as Reymond "Robocop" Yanong scored a win on Japanese soil.
The tough and resilient welterweight boxer from Highland Boxing Gym took on Japanese warrior Hayato Ono (12-7-3, 11 KOs) at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, and emerged victorious via split decision.
Guided by his Pampanga coach, former boxer Jayvee Alipio, Yanong (18-10-1, 12 KOs) employed a come-forward strategy to outmaneuver his opponent and secure the 8-round split decision win in tonight's main event in Japan.

Hayato Ono's right hook proved to be a formidable challenge, landing a hurtful blow that left the boxer from Escalante, Negros Occidental, with a one-inch cut underneath his left eyebrow.
Despite the setback, the 32-year-old Yanong showed remarkable grit and determination, thanks in part to his coach's expert handling of the wound.
At the end, it was the Filipino boxer's relentless pressure that paid off, earning him the split decision win with his left hand raised by the Japanese third man.
Reymond's UBO Continental Welterweight Title was not on the line.
Congratulations to Reymond Yanong and coach Jayvee Alipio from Philboxing.com – what a fight! 🇵🇭 🥊 👍
