WBO ANNOUNCES YOUTH TITLE!

PhilBoxing.com

Fil-Am WBO Vice President for the Asia Pacific Mr. Leon Panoncillo who sucessfully guided the regional WBO Asia Pacific organization to its highest level and considered among all regional titles as the most credible regional title in the Asia Pacific Rim, has announced the formation of its Asia-Pacific Youth title.

"With promoters from the Philippines, China, Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand inquiring about vacancies on this WBO Asia Pacific regional title which is now all occupied by champions, I needed to establish another avenue for the young upstarts. With this note, I am anouncing the opening of the WBO ASIA PACIFIC YOUTH title, which will lead the young stars of the future to an opening of opportunities all over Asia," announced Panoncillo.

In his conversation with Philboxing.com today, Panoncillo explained that his goal is to give better chances for all Asian boxers and not limit the youngster to just waiting for their opportunities.

"All veteran fighters and promoters will not risk chances to fight hot young prospects, its another category in itself and I had an idea to give opportunities and exposure to the young boxers. I have formed this WBO Asia Pacific Youth to support top talents among boxers 23 years of age and under, this will definitely encourage youngsters to look forward to bigger matches in the near future," Panoncillo added.

At this point all of the WBO Asia Pacific titles are being occupied by regional champions all over the Asia Pacific Rim and the growth of popularity of the WBO Asia Pacific organization has been tremendous over the years and none of the champions are willing to give YOUTH prospects chances to vie for their crown.

Boxers who will become champions of this WBO Asia Pacific Youth title, according to Panoncillo, will benefit and give them top 10 ranking in our Asia Pacific regional ranking and possibly get a chance at the Asia Pacific title itself, not mentioning the exposure. Those YOUTH champions who exceed five title defenses will be recognized with a Pre-eminent Elite Youth status and will earn a placement in the top 15 in our world ranking besides being ranked in the Asia Pacific.

"It's an honor for me to announce that the winner of the Alex John Banal versus Terdkiet Jundaeng scheduled on January 20th at Cebu Philippines will advance to participate for the vacant WBO ASIA PACIFIC YOUTH 115lb. vacant title scheduled by SGG Promotions on February 24, 2007. There is also a scheduled YOUTH title bout in Davao, Philippines on February for YOUTH prospect Jundy Maraon eyeing up for the 118lb. vacant YOUTH TITLE, however he must succeed in his bout with dangerous Thai opponent Saensak Singmannasak on their scheduled January 20th affair promoted by Gov. Pinol / Soc Pinol. The WBO looks forward to these up comming events," Panoncillo informed.
