Jennings (C).
CHICAGO -- Brandon Jennings' days as a spitfire for the Milwaukee Bucks are apparently over as the mercurial guard was shipped to the Detroit Pistons in a sign-and-trade deal.
According to multiple reports, including ESPN, the Pistons are now finalizing a deal that would give Jennings a three-year deal "in excess of $24 million.
In return, the Bucks will acquire the services of guard Brandon Knight, forward Khris Middleton and center Slava Kravtsov from the Pistons, sources said.
The 6-foot-1, 169-pound Jennings averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 assists per game last season. He shot 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and helped push the Bucks to the playoffs, where they were swept in the first round by the eventual champions, the Miami Heat.
Jennings was the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft and has spent his first four seasons with the Bucks. An unrestricted free in 2014, Jennings was looking for an extension in the neighborhood of $12 million a year, but the Bucks only tendered him a qualifying offer worth $4.5 million for one year.
The Pistons have made a big splash in this year's free agency, bringing to Detroit the versatile forward Josh Smith from the Atlanta Hawks and reuniting with longtime Pistons Chauncey Billups, and now Brandon Jennings.
With this new found trio, Detroit is hoping to get back in to playoff contention after four disappointing seasons. (John Aldwin Mahipos)
