NBA - Spurs stun Warriors, 102 - 92 By Ryan Medida PhilBoxing.com Sun, 12 May 2013 ![]() OAKLAND - Out-matched and dominated in the first two games, the veteran San Antonio Spurs of head coach Gregg Popovich showed why you can't count them out just yet. The Spurs silenced a buzzing sold-out crowd at the Oracle Arena by beating the Golden State Warriors, 102-92, in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal Friday night. San Antonio shot 50.6 to Golden State's 39.3 percent. For the first time in the series, the Spurs grounded both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and took a 2-1 lead in the best of 7 western conference semi finals. Vintage Tony Parker scored 25 of his 32 points in the first half while Tim "The Big Fundamental" Duncan finished with another double-double, 23 points and 10 boards. Kawhi Leonard added 15 points as the Spurs regained the homecourt advantage they lost following Game 2's loss. "I thought our team was very focused," Parker said. "By far our best game in the series. The first two games we didn't play well enough. Got lucky in the first one. The second one they kick our butt." Curry, who scored 16 on 5-of-17 shooting, twisted his left ankle in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Curry stayed in the game but was visibly hobbling. His status moving forward is unclear for Sunday's Game 4. Klay Thompson had 17 points on 7-of-20 from the floor. "Hopefully, he's with us, He's our best player. He's our leader. But if he's not, we'll have to do it collectively and not let it bother us," Warriors guard Klay Thompson said. Andrew Bogut, benched for the most of the second half with foul trouble, added 11 points and 12 boards. Warriors coach Mark Jackson played All-Star David Lee for three minutes and he had five points while making two of three shots. The Warriors opened up the fourth quarter with a 9-0 run that cut their deficit to one, but they wouldn't get any closer as the Spurs held their ground against repeated rallies, frustrating both the Warriors and their 19,596 fans. This young Warrior team is looking to bounce back in Game 4 this Sunday at Oracle Arena, just like what they did in game 2 after a tough double overtime loss in game 1.
