NBA -- James leads Heat's title defense
By Katrina Barnett PhilBoxing.com Mon, 22 Apr 2013

MIAMI -- The Miami Heat's quest for a back-to-back NBA title played out pretty much like their regular season campaign -- fairly easy. Thanks to LeBron James, who barely missed a triple-double with 27 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
James, the reigning MVP, made 9-of-11 field goals and the Heat trampled over the Milwaukee Bucks, 100-87, to take Game 1 of their best-of-7 opening round series Sunday night at the American Airlines Arena.
The No.8 seeded Bucks just didn't have enough to overcome the No. 1 ranked Heat who also parade Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen and Chris Bosh in their line-up. The Bucks hadn't won a playoffs series opener since 2001 and they never once tasted he lead against Miami.
The Heat came out with a well-rounded and strong offense as Allen came off the becnh with 20 while Wade, Bosh and Chris Andersen finished with 16, 15 and 10 points respectively.
The Heat also played well on defense and held to Milwaukee to 41.5 percent from the field.. Brandon Jennings led the Bucks with 26 points and Monta Ellis added 22.
The Bucks still have hope, though. They beat the Heat last December 29 by limiting the Heat bench to 15 points. They would need the same defensive effort to score an upset in Game 2 Tuesday Tuesday night. (KB)
