Bulls play streak-buster again
By Katrina Barnett PhilBoxing.com Fri, 12 Apr 2013
CHICAGO. The Bulls extinguished another hot NBA streak Thursday night at the United Center where they handed the New York Knicks their first loss -- 118-111 in overtime -- in 14 games.
It was the second time this season that the Bulls were able to upset a top team in the NBA's tough Eastern Conference. They beat Miami last March 27, ending the Heat's 27-game win streak also at the United Center. This time, it was the Knicks who saw their triumphant streak come to a screeching halt at 13 games.
The Knicks came to Chicago with the swagger of Atlantic Division champions, a title they last held in 1994. The Celtics had owned the division the past six years but the re-tooled Knicks have since dominated the Atlantic, thanks to All-Star Carmelo Anthony and the addition of important pieces around him.
The Knicks' glow didn't intimidate the Bulls, who entered the game losing four of their seven previous assignments. Instead, the Bulls handed the Knicks a rare season sweep of four games.
The Bulls may not have won 13 or 27 games in a row this season, but they are 2-for-2 against two of the most dominant teams in the Eastern Conference this season. (KB)
