LOPEZ: Have you seen videos of Bautista on YOUTUBE and do you know his style of fighting? RAMIREZ: Yes I have seen videos of Bautista, and also my stable mate Antonio Meza who has fought Bautista in the past. I also talked to Daniel Ponce Deleon recently here in Mexicali and he offered his advice on how to beat Bautista. He showed me the weakness of Bautista and how to get a ?KNOCKOUT?. LOPEZ: What is the name of your trainer? (cual es el nombre de su entrenador?) RAMIREZ: Francisco Martinez LOPEZ: Is your record correct, (24-3-15KO)? (?Es su registro correcto, (24-3-15KO)?) RAMIREZ: No, I have 17 knockouts.. (no, yo tiengo 17 knockouts) LOPEZ: You have not fought at 126 pounds in over two years, can you make 126? RAMIREZ: Yes, it will not be a problem. (No es un problema) LOPEZ: What day will you arrive to the Philippines? (?Qu? d?a te llega a las Filipinas?) RAMIREZ: I will arrive on the 15th of April, five days before the fight. LOPEZ: This is your first time fighting out of Mexico; can you adjust to the weather and the long travel? RAMIREZ: I will leave Mexico in good shape and after 24 hours in the Philippines, i will be ok. LOPEZ: Are you worried about having Filipino judges? (?Le preocupa tener jueces filipinos?) RAMIREZ: YES, i was told by many people that it is hard to get a decision in the Philippines that makes me more determined to win. LOPEZ: Who have you been sparring with? (?Qui?n ha sido sparring con?) RAMIREZ: I have sparred with World Champions Abner Mares, Hugo Ruiz (brother of Heriberto Ruiz who had beaten Bautista in the past) and Antonio Meza (past opponent of Bautista who lost by UD) (Soy sparring con Mundo del Campeones Abner Mares, Hugo Ruiz (hermano de Heriberto Ruiz, antes ganar contra Bautista) y Antonio Meza (opositor pasado de Bautista que perdi? por UD) (Heriberto Ruiz) LOPEZ: Do you have a message for Rey Bautista and the Filipino people? RAMIREZ: I am thankful for the opportunity and i will bring the title back to Mexico. Yes, how do you see the fight Miguel, since you know Bautista? LOPEZ: Bautista is a good fighter, and is well disciplined. He will come to fight and you better expect a hard fight. Bautista had a hard fight and won by split decision against Daniel Ruiz this past October and some fans believed Ruiz won. Bautista will be well conditioned. My advice for you is to train hard, make weight and come in tip top shape. There are many Mexicans in the Philippines and they will cheer for you. My motto is always, ?MAY THE BEST MAN WIN.?
