NBA -- Lopez shines in Nets' win over Mavericks
By Rajah Allarey PhilBoxing.com Fri, 22 Mar 2013

JERSEY CITY -- The Brooklyn Nets came back from a 10-point first quarter deficit and used a solid second half burst to beat the Dallas Mavericks, 113-96, Wednesday night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Brook Lopez was front and center of Brooklyn's important road win as the 7-foot slotman racked up 38 points and 11 rebounds while point guard Deron Williams added 31 points and six assists as the Nets flexed their dreaded 1-2 punch combination. Power forward Andre Blatche Brooklyn chipped in 14 points and four rebounds for Brooklyn, which made 45 of 89 shots and 7-of-21 threes.
Down 32-22 after one quarter of action, Brooklyn laid the groundwork for a comeback with a 29-point second quarter. The Nets then opened things up with a combined 62 points in the third and final periods.
"It was a great win. Brook likes the building, evidently. Deron was out of his mind. A lot of guys played very, very well for us, " a satisfied Nets head coach P.J. Carlesimo told NBA.com about the victory that improved his team's record to 40-28, good for No.4 in the Eastern Conference overall standings.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 16 points and six rebounds while center Chris Kaman added 14.
With their second straight triumph, the 40-28 Nets kept their fourth place ranking in the Eastern Conference while the 32-26 Mavericks dropped to 3 1/2 games behind for the 8th and last playoffs spot in the Western Conference. (RA)
