NBA -- Bulls host red-hot Nuggets
By Alex Gardunio PhilBoxing.com Mon, 18 Mar 2013

CHICAGO --The short-handed Chicago Bulls aim to tie their longest home winning streak this season as they play host to the Denver Nuggets who are currently riding a streak of their own Monday night.
Denver comes in one win shy of tying their own record since joining the league with 11 wins.
The Nuggets? current streak reached 11 when they stole a win from Memphis on Friday, scoring nine of the final 11 points in an 87-80 win at home. The win put Denver in a virtual tie for fourth place in the Western Conference. ?You grow playing these kinds of games,? said Danilo Gallinari who finished with 15 points.
Denver, however, has only played sub-.500 teams during their current streak and Chicago, without Taj Gibson (knee) Richard Hamilton (back) and Kirk Hinrich (foot), look to improve their hoem win streak to four straight.
Coming off beating down Golden State Friday, Chicago is still without Derrick Rose (knee) who is cleared to play but is opting to stay on the sidelines until he is confident enough to take it full speed on the court. "I do know we have pride," coach Tom Thibodeau said. "We've taken a hit. We've lost some guys along the way. Our guys will battle. We know that we're short-handed. But if we have the right intensity and we do it collectively, we have a chance. And we've shown it throughout the year."
This looks to be a good matchup with both teams in the top 10 in rebounding but Denver is third in points per game while Chicago is third in points allowed per game. Look for it to be an intense and hard fought game in the paint and plenty of shots taken from the charity stripe. (AG)
