NBA - Kings crush depleted Bulls, 121-79 By Francisco Marron Jr. PhilBoxing.com Fri, 15 Mar 2013 CHICAGO -- In their most lopsided defeat under head coach Tom Thibodeau's era, the Chicago Bulls went down against the Sacramento Kings, 121-79, Wednesday night at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento. After falling behind 34-20 after one quarter of play, the Bulls fell into a deeper hole by halftime, 65-36. The Kings never let up on the gas and led by as many as 45 points. "It was embarrassing. It's just hard to put into words. We have a lot of people out. When you have people out, everyone has to play a little harder and do a little more. We know we're capable of doing that because we've done it before," power forward Carlos Boozer, who led the short-handed Bulls with 21 points and seven rebounds, told the Chicago Tribune. "We're not competing the way we're supposed to be competing," added Joakim Noah, who finished with six points and nine rebounds for the Bulls, who played without Derrick Rose, Kirk Hinrich, Taj Gibson and Richard "Rip" Hamilton. Tyreke Evans had an all-around effort of 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Kings, who converted 54.2 percent from the field. Isaiah Thomas chipped in 22 markers while Patrick Patterson added 14. Three other Kings finished in double figures -- Jason Thompson (12), Chuck Hayes (10) and Toney Douglas (10). With their second straight loss, the Bulls dropped to 35-29. They are ranked No.5 in the Eastern Conference playoffs race. The Kings, already of out of the playoffs race at No.13 in the Western Conference, improved to 23-43.
