Green & Cameron Final Presser By Brett Bonetti PhilBoxing.com Mon, 19 Nov 2012 ![]() Three Time World Champion Danny ?The Green Machine? Green (32-5, 28 KO?s) and Shane ?The Mountain Warrior? Cameron (29-2, 22 KO?s) held their final press conference at the Crown Casino in Melbourne ahead of their bout for the vacant IBO World Cruiserweight Title at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne Australia this Wednesday. Green will be aiming for a fourth World Title and says that it is a big motivating factor for this fight as there has been no Australian born fighter that has won four world titles before. Cameron will be aiming for his first world title and the first New Zealand fighter to win a world title in many years. Green was asked about the weight limit set for this World Title Fight with Cameron and said he is the one taking a big risk because Cameron was a much bigger opponent. "It is a massive difference and a massive advantage," Green said "I expect Shane, a man of his size, to tip the scales at 96kg minimum by the time of the fight while I'll tip them at 86.5kg maybe? "It's the catchweight and it's been going on forever, Sugar Ray Leonard did it against Donny Lalonde and Tommy Hearns, Manny Paquaio, Floyd Mayweather have all fought at a catchweight" He is the number nine Heavyweight in the world, he?s a monster, I'm the one putting my balls on the line fighting a Heavyweight? Green said. Cameron?s manager Ken Reinsfield said he was very confident about ?The Mountain Warrior?s? chances and says his training camp has gone very well. ?I said to Shane this week during training, that you look so good, you just look like one tough, mean bastard and I can?t wait for the fight? Reinsfield said. Green?s long time respected trainer Angelo Hyder also is excited about this fight, Green?s chances of a fourth world title and can?t wait for the fight. ?Just as Ken said about Shane, I feel the same way about Greeny, I think both guys look in great shape and are ready to go, I can?t wait? Hyder said. Also in attendance was IBO World Featherweight Champion ?Wild? Will Tomlinson (19-0, 12 KO?s) who will be making the 2nd defence of his Title against Irving ?Travieso? Berry (22-3-2, 9 KO?s). ?I?m looking forward to this fight and I promise I won?t let the fans down, this fight will be a war? Tomlinson said Berry, who does not speak much English thanked everyone for attending and says he plans on upsetting Tomlinson on Wednesday and claim the belt. Danny Green vs Shane Cameron, promoted by Green Machine Boxing, Wednesday November 21 at Hisense Arena, Melbourne Australia. ![]() Click here to view a list of other articles written by Brett Bonetti. ![]() |
