BREAKING NEWS: AMIR KHAN TO ANNOUNCE NEW TRAINER NEXT WEEK

PhilBoxing.com

New Brunswick, NJ ? Former WBA and IBF Junior Welterweight Champion Amir Khan is looking to bounce back from his back to back defeats in the ring, especially his most recent loss at the hands of WBC and now WBA Junior Welterweight Champ Danny Garcia.

Khan, who lost by the way of a 4th round TKO in the hands of Garcia last July 14th in Las Vegas, plans to come back stronger and better when he makes his return in the ring later this year.

And that includes making new changes in his camp.

?We?ll come back stronger. We are gonna change a lot of things in the camp. The coach maybe, also sparring partners, also training methods," Khan told this writer as I caught up to him in Central Jersey Monday evening. Khan was a special guest in Monday's grand opening of the newly renovated and improved Brunswick Boxing & Fitness Club in New Brunswick.

?So we?re gonna change a lot of things. I know that I will be much better, much stronger and much explosive,? added the former Olympic silver medalist for Great Britain.

Khan said that he will announce these changes next week, which will possibly include a new trainer for the native of Bolton England. Khan has worked with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach since 2008 and the duo has produced an eight fight winning streak and the WBA belt which ended in a close and controversial Split Decision last December against Lamont Petersen. Khan?s WBA belt was given back to him after Petersen tested positive for banned substances last May.

Khan?s devastating loss to Garcia produced talks of him ending his almost four year relationship with Roach. Khan told me that he has not chosen his new coach yet but will announce his name next week.

?Not yet, I am gonna announce one next week. I am still working on it,? said the 25 year old boxer. Khan said that he has been talking and looking at trainers that can help him improve the defensive aspect of his game. ?I don?t want to mention the names but they are very good trainers and they are good in defense, not only offense but defense,? said Khan.

Khan intends to go back to training after announcing his new coach for a planned December 15th fight which may take place in the United Kingdom or here in the States. Khan states that he may or may not stay in the 140 pound class and that a move to full welterweight is a possibility as well.

?I am thinking of fighting, maybe 140 again or maybe 147. It depends of what the best is for me there,? expressed Khan.

Khan also said that he pushed for a rematch against Garcia but the Philly fighter refused to do so.

?I tried to fight Danny Garcia again but he don?t want to fight me. He avoided me to fight Erik Morales. That is why HBO did not buy that fight. That fight is fighting on Showtime,? Khan stated. ?It shows that HBO still wants to back me and support me because we bring excitement.?

Amir Khan assures his fans and a lot of them show up this Monday evening in New Jersey, that he will come back stronger from this recent setback.

?I want to tell them that I?m fine. Everyone gets knocked out, everyone gets beat. Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali. I?ll come back stronger, I?ll be the best,? Khan stated.

Amir Khan might have lost his last two championship bouts and his championship belt but he has never lost his belief that he can and will make a spirited comeback as soon as possible.

?We will be back again, definitely!?
