THE ?TWILIGHT SAGA? OF A HUMAN SPORT BELEAGUERED BY VAMPIRES

PhilBoxing.com

Until the Pacquiao-Bradley controversy is correctly resolved, millions of people who are fond of boxing would simply walk away as we have seen the reactions and uproar anywhere in the world from the moment Michael Buffer announced Timothy Bradley as the ?winner.?

I may be the first to walk away from boxing, but before I do that, let me share a passionate piece.

This is no ordinary times for boxing and the people. A beleaguered sport is rising up from its grave. And the hapless fans are gaining their sight back. The outrage is directed towards the judges? decision, not Bradley. And the outrage is justified.

It has become immaterial whether Manny Pacquiao thus far would file a protest or merely fold in meekness. The issue over the judges? erroneous scorecards transcends whatever Pacquiao would have to say or do now.

Boxing is blessed to have fans and people who still can distinguish sores from scores, humans from vampires. I have heard enough from the ?salts of the earth? to concede that boxing is not without hope after all. And I have read a lot in media the past days for me to believe that boxing breathes a little and is currently undergoing some major process of healing.

It?s an amazing discovery that human tribes abound, still; and that they may now comprise well over three quarters of the sport?s population of followers and pillars which means only a remaining small percentage of vampires are left in the game, un-awakened. They are the stiff-necked stubborn minority of Baal worshipers. And they persist to tell us jokes to this day, jokes that carry sting to perpetuate our entrapment under the whims and schemes of the deeply entrenched syndicates of Mafia conspirators, in the name of almighty dollars.

But shall we allow these vultures to prevail and continue to be enthroned in majesty inside caves? Are we not aware of the reasons why we, the fans, always seem to end up shortchanged? Do we still wonder how ?genius? these creatures are when they are not gods to make bricks without straw so they can cook something up for a show from one boxing event to another. Enough.

Volcanoes have erupted and the shaking of the ground should be greatly alarming for the suckers to shiver in shame and horror. They are hardened, unrepentant sinners. Vampires are deaf and dumb. They hear nothing and say nothing. But when they do, they invent the unreal and bite the unsuspecting. So much has been said and shouted on mountaintops to shed light in the darkest of nights for the good of the sport and for the ?salvation? of souls. Hear ye. But jokes always seem to get in the way to make everyone simply smile and laugh ?after the loving? as the song goes, and as the fire and passion slowly die down.

The jokes are on us, sadly. And sometimes jokes can be unbearably hilarious.

One such gigantic joke is the World Boxing Organization deciding to undertake an official review of the fight yet its ?officials? stressed a ?rule? that the decision by the judges which declared Bradley the new WBO welterweight champion cannot by any means be reversed. Well it?s like a hospital patient being subjected to a battery of lab tests only to let him stay untreated (based on a ?rule?) after being diagnosed that his health is in terrible condition until the helpless soul fully wilts to be transmitted lifeless into the great beyond.

Another big joke is the high drama that a boxing bigwig appears to be resolute in getting into the bottom of the controversy when he could very much be at the bottom of the same controversy and many? many of the things rotten and unpleasant in boxing.

The Nevada or US state government (not the NSAC) should step into the whole picture, indeed, to do the impartial review and to do justice without any conflict of interest. Justice is to be rendered not only to one boxer, but to the entire boxing community and the ?millions upon millions? of ?duped? fans around the world who may just be giving boxing one more chance to recover from numerous ignominy it has plunged itself into.

Senators Harry Reid and John McCain?s pending proposal of ways to put order in the world of boxing is a step in the right direction. They have been conceiving to create a sport?s commission to administer and oversee fight events with sufficient power to curb abuses, manipulations, deceits and conspiracies. May the good senators pursue such plans as a priority act of their respective offices being elected leaders to uphold the interest of the people, and no one but the people.

A lot of the other steps needed to be taken wait in the wings. Why not take the first steps so the rest by itself could naturally tread on the heels of those who have conquered the summit as each step maintains the drive up, in an ever increasing momentum. It?s just always a struggle at first.

The night is far spent and a new day is dawning. Alas, it dawns only on humans who are awake.
