WIBA-WPBF CONVENTION UPDATE

PhilBoxing.com

The much awaited joint meeting of boxing top conglomerations among the World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) and the Women International Boxing Association (WIBA), all United States of America-based and registered boxing sanctioning bodies is becoming more in place.

Massive preparations and approval emanating from both boxing bodies to all convention related matters are now being carefully crafted just to ensure this very laudable project geared towards two (2) magnificent effect to the Philippines.Showcasing our world class Filipino great ring fighters , and this time with professional women pugs to open the curtain of future global competition.Plus factor is the image build-up for the country as another world class venue of international conventions such as this one.

In October, which will be held in the " exotic island paradise" of Boracay , the collaboration by the Games and Amusements Board together with the Department of Tourism is very obvious. In that way, we are surely hitting two birds with one particular stone.

This writer upon consistent instruction by Chairman Eric R.Buhain of the GAB is seeing into it that everything is in its proper order and perspective.Press people are now beginning to realize that it's gonna be a "big bang" in the making.I know it for real.Imagine now that the Peoples Republic of China through this WPBF and its affiliates the USBC and the APBA , is willing to spend its resources for the success of the organization not only in China but in the community of international boxing in general.I have learned a lot about their seriousness during my meeting with Mr.David Young in Wuhan City ,China last month. They are really desirious and determined to hit the pot in boxing. This is the opportune time that all parties must get-involved.

Once materialized , we can face these top boxing people squarely and we could even shout to high heavens that our country is a force to reckon and for that , in professional boxing, we do really matter! We are happy because as of the moment organizations and individuals in the country's boxing community as well as the private sectors are trying to pour -in their inputs to augment the very efforts that the GAB and the organizers are doing for the good of this joint global confab. This is our very own affair in the Philippines.

We cannot deny the fact that , until now we are yet to win the unconditional commitment and support of our local government officials particularly in the province of Aklan and the Malay town where Boracay is strategically located. The security and details of protocol to be afforded to our delegates is a must thing that should be done at this earlier stage. But in essence, its a done thing considering that this is not an ordinary occassion to be participated by their top local executives. We would like to project it that way.Our team will visit Boracay and the local officials for its confirmation and their support for the good of all concerned.

Fight cards for the double championship round matches are already approved by both the WIBA and the WPBF santioning committees.Feauturing an American Stacey Reile versus Amalia Padsico of the Philippines of the WIBA super bantam weight inter continental championship fight for women pro boxing and Jun Arlos, WPBF reigning Filipino champion against a Thailander for the male professional championship.Three (3) chinese male and one (1) chinese female for the solidarity fights would be more than enough for the sensational "Rumble in Bora" this October fever in the white sand beach fronts of Boracay.Live coverages via the tri-media with the dominance of the television is now being worked-out.

Indeed, this is a world class event in Boracay!!!!
