MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND HEATS UP THIS SATURDAY WHEN "S?LO BOXEO TECATE" HITS COLUMBUS, OHIO PhilBoxing.com Fri, 25 May 2012 LOS ANGELES, May 24 - Don Chargin Productions and Golden Boy Promotions will help kick off the Summer of 2012 this Saturday night when TeleFutura's "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" broadcasts a hard-hitting card featuring two intriguing headline matchups from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. In the main event, scheduled for 10 rounds in the lightweight division, local favorite Mark Salser of Mansfield, Ohio battles Arizona's Rodolfo "Bam Bam" Armenta in a rematch of their 2011 fight and, in the co-feature, Columbus' own Leo Martinez battles unbeaten Jonathan Garcia in a six round junior welterweight contest. Salser vs. Armenta headlines a night of world-class professional boxing presented by Don Chargin Productions and Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., the first bell rings at 7:00 p.m. and the TeleFutura broadcast begins at 12:00 a.m. ET/PT. Tickets priced at $20, $100 and $126 are available for purchase online at www.ticketmaster.com or at the Nationwide Arena Box Office. 29-year old Mark Salser (13-0, 9 KO's) may have gotten a late start as a professional having turned pro at the age of 24, but the Mansfield, Ohio native is hoping to make up for lost time in 2012 with continued strong performances in the ring. Fighting for the first time since he decisioned Armenta in July of 2011, Salser is looking forward to delivering another win, this time in front of his local fans. A native of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico who now makes his home in Rio Rico, Arizona, Rodolfo Armenta (11-6-1, 9 KO's) is a hard-nosed veteran ready to spoil Salser's homecoming. After a six round decision defeat to Salser last year, the 27-year-old Armenta rebounded with a fourth round knockout win over Pablo Becerra and though he lost his last bout to then 12-0 Antonio Orozco in February, a win on Saturday night will get the summer started off right for him. 30-year old veteran Leo Martinez (15-15, 7 KO's), a steady fan favorite from Columbus, always shows up and delivers compelling fights and plans on handing junior welterweight prospect Jonathan Garcia (6-0, 5 KO's) his first professional loss on Saturday night. Garcia has impressed his west coast fans ever since his professional debut in 2010, and with five straight knockouts he's going to be ready to upset the rugged veteran in hostile territory.
