Knockout Puncher Segura 4lbs over contract limit... Julaton wants fight! PhilBoxing.com Sat, 05 May 2012 Yesterday at the weighin, Ana Julaton always being a professional stepped in the scales at 126l bs the contract limit of the fight. Yolanda Segura who has been victorious in her last three fights by knocking her opponents out at 134lbs had agreed to fight Julaton at 126lbs weeks prior to the fight and had signed a contract stating that she would lose 25% of her earnings should she fail to make the weight. Segura stepped on to the Official scales at 130lbs (4lbs above the Contract). Yucatan Boxing Promoter Jose Rivero informed Mr. Allan Tremblay of Orion Sports management (Julaton's promoter) that Segura's team informed Rivero that Yolanda cannot shed any more weight and the 5'6" Segura would resign from the fight if they make her shed any more weight. Tremblay was about to cancel the fight as it is a safety issue in that Yolanda Segura is such a Heavy Puncher, but Julaton pleaded to let the fight continue expressing to her promoter Allan Tremblay that she is prepared and had been sparring with taller and harder punching male boxers during the training camp and she is doesn't care that Segura came above weight and wants to fight her No Matter what! After a lengthy discussion with both teams it was agreed by Orions Sports, Yucatan Boxing Promotions and Team Segura that Yolanda will be penalized 25% of her earnings and she will be weighed again at 8pm and she cannot be above 132lbs as a cap to ensure she does not blow up to 140lbs. You have to commend Julaton for her Bravery, now let's see what happens in this very dangerous scenario for our Champion of the people! Video Supplement! http://youtu.be/S8FYRSu4Pis?t=11s Promoter Allan Tremblay has an ambitious plan for Julaton and has expressed in the press conference prior to the game that he would like Ana to fight WBA Super Bantamweight Champion Jackie Nava who is promoted by Zanfer Promotions (they also handle Juan Manuel Marquez and Rafael Marquez). Jackie Nava who also will be fighting May 5th in Tijuana making her first title defense of the WBA crown. "I would like to have Ana fight Jackie next and I'm willing to make the deal for the fight to happen here in Mexico or if plans come together we can do the fight in the Philippines...with Marcos vs Julaton we saw 40,000 people in attendance in Argentina, I believe Julaton vs Nava in the Phillipines or Mexico could show record breaking attendance numbers as you have two of the best in boxing with Nava vs Julaton," promoter Allan Tremblay said in his interview with one of Mexico's Top Boxing writer Juan Carlos Guitierrez. |
