Penalosa, who once held the wold junior bantamweight and bantamweight titles, will be arriving with his wife, Goody, and hopes to give some pointers to the orphan from North Cotabato who hopes to make history by becoming the first world boxing champion from his province and the first product of a government-sponsored grassroots boxing program to win a world title. Villanueva, 26, will fight Indonesia's Daud Cino Yordan, considered as one of the two best Indon fighters now, in a 12-round bout of what is considered to be a classic encounter between a skillfull boxer, Yordan, and a street fighter whose main weapon is his vaunted punching power. The southpaw fighter from Bual Norte, Midsayap, North Cotabato holds a spectacular professional boxing record of 24 victories with no loss and 23 knockouts. "In whatever way, I would like to help Lorenzo achieve his dream," said Penalosa, whose family also rose out of poverty because of boxing. His older brother, Dodie Boy, a polio victim, is also a two-division world champion like Gerry. He said he would like to be in the corner of the Filipino fighter on Saturday. Also flying in for the fight is Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Commissioner, Fritz Gaston, who is the acting GAB Chairman.
