BRUCE MCTAVISH TO CONDUCT FIRST EVER OFFICIALS SEMINAR IN MIDDLE EAST

Filipino-New Zealander referee Bruce McTavish will conduct the first ever WBC boxing officials seminar in the Middle East to be held in Dubai, UAE on Feb. 1 to 3. McTavish, a resident of Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines, and a veteran judge and referee with 161 title fights under his belt including stints in North Korea, Siberia and China, will also officiate the first ever title fight in the Middle East to be held on Jan 31. Expected to send their representatives to the event are all Middle Eastern countries including Iran.
Dubai has been in the news lately as being rumored to host the possible megafight between Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao and eccentric American boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. The hosting of the first ever boxing officials seminar in Dubai shows that the Middle East is serious in becoming a major player in professional boxing.
