Statements from Co-manager Michael Koncz: "Bobby arrived in the United States On April 19th to commence his training. Since working with Bobby over the past 2 years I have never seen him this focused and determined. Bobby?s work ethic was phenomenal every day at the Wild Card and also at a second gym in Orange County was he and I work on his stamina and conditioning. There is always room to improve on his stamina / conditioning however, I told Bob that this is the best training camp he has ever had and I am very happy and proud of him for his new found desire and extra work that he has put in such as amongst other things, doing approximately 935 sit-ups and related abdominal exercises per day and spending 30 minutes on a row boat machine. Kevin Kelley despite his age is a very dangerous opponent and can not be taken lightly as he his a former 2 time world champion who has great ring general-men-ship and tremendous power. Bobby and I have had numerous conversations regarding the importance of a good showing against Kelly as this would diminish the controversial win in his last fight against Hernandez and perhaps he will no-longer be labeled as Manny Pacquiao?s little brother. Bobby is totally focused on this fight, is in the best condition of his professional career and will give 110% on fight night. STATEMENTS from Co-manager MANNY PACQUIAO: "When I arrived in America to start my own training camp and saw Bobby the first time training at the Wild Card I was very surprised and happy to see the condition of his body and knew right away that he had worked very hard. I am very proud of my brother for preparing very hard for this fight. This is a good opportunity and a big break for Bobby. I know in my heart he is ready and will do his best on June 10th. I talked with Bobby and he understands I also have to train hard for my July 2nd fight with Larios so I can not go to New York to give him my support. In these final days before his fight Bobby will be in my prayers also, I will call a number of times to give him support and encouragement over the phone right up to the moment he steps into the ring." |
