Saggap, Manayon top Heritage Aquathlon

PhilBoxing.com

AL-RASHEIM Saggap and Karen Manayon were the overall fastest male and female, respectively in the Rotary Heritage Aquathlon held last Sunday, September 7 at the Dawis Heritage Wharf in Barangay Dawis, Digos City.

The 17-year-old Saggap of Tagum City ruled the male Modified Standard Solo followed by his brother Ahbsfar, 21.

Third was Jorry Ycong of Cebu City.

“Happy, challenging, hard training has paid off, blood and sweat have been shed before I could achieve my dream of becoming a champion,” said Saggap, who won his first aquathlon.

But he recently bagged the National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) last March 23 in General Santos City.

The Saggap brothers are trained by their father Abdulgani.

Manayon of Cebu, on the other hand, topped the distaff side followed by Mira Claire Catayas of Tagum.

Ellaiza Nicole Rojo of Davao City was third.

Meanwhile, Saggap’s younger sister Al-nazzer combined with Jomar Echaveria to win the Modified Standard 2 Man team relay.

Second were Ian Lemuel Cretecio and Justine Alboroto while third were Arnel Pacquiao and Manuel Parke.

In the All-Female relay, Aimee Alviola and Ronesa Mae Umali beat Nikki Cameros and Xela Marie Camasura.
