Larios demands penalty if...

Mexican Oscar "Chololo" Larios upped one notch his readiness to take on Manny Pacquiao, not only by signing the dotted lines, but also by asking organizers to pay a penalty fee should the fight not push through as scheduled on July 2 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Reports coming out of Mexico indicate that the organizers of the mammoth event have already deposited the advance money for Larios' purse, as is the standard in holding boxing events. There was no mention on how much was sent to Larios, although normally the advance payment is thirty percent of the total purse. Larios will be getting $450,000 to take on Pacquiao.
Larios' group insisted on the penalty should the fight not push through, as they noted that the Filipino icon is busy with several things outside of boxing, and they are worried that Pacquiao might get injured in one of these activities to cause a cancellation or postponement.
Larios had recently renewed his boxing license in Las Vegas in anticipation of his mammoth bout with Pacquiao, and will fly to the Philippines this month to take part in press conferences to promote the bout before flying back to Mexico.
When he arrives in the country weeks before the Pacquiao showdown, Larios plans to train in one of the facilities offered by organizers located in Quezon City, said the report.
The July 2 showdown is slated to start at 11AM in the Philippines, which is evening in the United States. This is the same time schedule used when Muhammad Ali faced Joe Frazier at the "Thrilla in Manila," considered as the most memorable fight in the history of boxing.
