Farenas, Tampus victorious in Masbate

Featherweight Michael Farenas, managed by Japan's Kosuke Washio and Gerry Penalosa, showed a lot of promise after he annihilated veteran Edwin Gastador at the 1:43 mark of the third to register a fine knockout win Sunday night in the mainer of a card held in Kawayan, Masbate.
Farenas unleashed wicked body shots on Gastador prompting the referee to stop the fight.
In the co-feature, comebacking former PABA junior fly champ Marvin Tampus disposed of another veteran Noel Sungahid in a rain-delayed bout.
Tampus rained body shots on Sungahid, stopping the latter at the 30-second mark of the fifth frame.
Other results also saw Greg Mangan prevailing on a majority decision over Bert Gawat; Jerope Mercado decisioned Regie Binueza; Alvin Mundala decisioned Bonnie Maido; while Jimmy Sescon also decisioned Fernando Otic.
