Team USA Continues Dominant Run with 7-0 Performance on Day Six In Colombia PhilBoxing.com Sun, 24 May 2026 United States Goes Undefeated On Day Six In Colombia GIRARDOT, Colombia (May 23, 2026) – USA Boxing’s Elite High Performance Squad had its second undefeated day in Colombia after the Stars and Stripes went 7-0 on day six at the 2026 Copa America. The United States improved to a dominant 48-9 record after six days of competition in Girardot, Colombia. Jennifer Lozano (51 kilograms), Jayshannet Zapata (54 kilograms), Deborah Grant (57 kilograms), and Alexis Proctor (60 kilograms) led the way on the women’s team. Lozano was the first American boxer to enter the ring on Friday, and the Texas native secured a 4-1 split decision victory over Leidy Rivas. Lozano remains undefeated in Colombia with a dominant 5-0 record. She will enter the ring on Saturday, squaring off against Luz Mirabal in Bout 11 at approximately 4:30 p.m. ET. Following Lozano, Zapata secured her third win of the event after the New York native earned a 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Jennifer Quintero. Zapata is now 3-2 in Colombia and will return to the ring on Saturday against Jennifer Yool in Bout 2 at approximately 2:15 p.m. ET. Grant also secured her third victory of the event as the North Carolina native defeated Kelly Benitez by a 4-1 split decision. Grant is now 3-1 at the 2026 Copa America event and will seek her fourth win Saturday against Jhuskarly Becerra in Bout 15 at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET. Rounding out the women’s team, Proctor secured her first win in Colombia in dominant fashion. Proctor secured multiple 10-8 scores in the first two rounds and ultimately earned her first win in Colombia by third-round RSC over Nicole Leon. Proctor will have Saturday off. Moving on to the men’s team, Nnajai Wright (90+ kilograms) and Malachi Georges (90 kilograms) each secured 5-0 unanimous decision victories. Wright was the first of the two to enter the ring and defeated Daniel Guzman, while Georges defeated Alfonso Blanco. Georges will have the day off on Saturday, while Wright will face Willy Mendoza in Bout 40 at approximately 11:45 p.m. ET. Earning his victory by walkover on Friday was Gilbert Kabamba (90+ kilograms), who improved to 5-0 in Colombia. Kabamba will face Daniel Guzman in Bout 38 at approximately 11:15 p.m. ET. Also, on the schedule for Saturday is Moises Rodriguez (55 kilograms), Yahir Diaz-Martinez (60 kilograms), Dustin Jimenez (65 kilograms), Kentrell Rouser (70 kilograms), Tyric Trapp (80 kilograms), and Kendra Samargis (75 kilograms).
