Toro Promotions’ Trio victorious in Mexico PhilBoxing.com Sun, 24 May 2026 ![]() Team Guerrero celebrates. Nilo Guerrero, Tsotne Rogava & Narek Hovhannisyan showcased on the Bay of Chetumal CHETUMAL, Quintana Roo, Mexico (May 22, 2026) -- Toro Promotions’ gifted trio of prizefighters recently put on an impressive show in Chetumal, Mexico. The card featured three of its fighters in action: undefeated Nicaraguan super featherweight Nilo Guerrero (12-0, 8 KOs), Georgian heavyweight Tsotne “Mr. T” Rogava (13-1-0, 8 KOs), and devastating Armenian lightweight prospect Narek Hovhannisyan (4-0, 3 KOs). “We’ll be back there,” Toro’s Danny Torosyan said. “They’re good people who want us to help them develop boxing and increase tourism. We put on a good show. Our fighters showed that Toro Promotions has world-class fighters. Nilo defended his WBC title, and he will move up in the rankings. Rogava bounced back nicely from his loss in the WBC Grand Prix. Narek is already one of the best body punchers in boxing. He moves fast and strikes hard. His body shots have resulted in a lot of knockdowns and three knockdowns.” The 25-year-old Guerrero successfully defended his World Boxing Council (WBC) FECARBOX Super Featherweight title belt, winning a 10-round unanimous decision over Juan “Pelon” Pablo Ramirez (13-5- 2 KOs), of Mexico, in the main event. Guerrero effectively used his height and reach advantage to control the fight, sticking his stiff jab to set up his other punches from the opening to final bell. Guerrero’s constant activity and nifty defense never allowed Ramirez to sit in the pocket and punch. ![]() Tsotne Rogava (R) wins. In the co-featured event, Rogava overpowered and outclassed his Mexican opponent, previously unbeaten Mauricio “La Mole” Perez (8-1-1, 6 KOs), enroute to an 8-round unanimous decision, winning each of the 8 rounds on all three judges scorecard. Rogava’s power and strength were too much for Perez to handle. The 6’ 3”, 250-pound Rogava, a former kickboxer who represented Ukraine in boxing at the 2020 Olympics, bounced back impressively from his lone loss as a pro in last year’s inaugural WBC Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia. ![]() Hovhannisyan wins. Hovhannisyan destroyed hometown favorite Julian Cady Del Angel (4-2-1, 1 KO), of Mexico, in a Special Lightweight Attraction match, stopping him in the opening round. The aggressive Hovhannisyan floored Angel in the opening round and never slowed down, punishing him with a lethal body attack, Angel was knocked down twice in the second, the latter with a brutal liver shot that resulted in a technical knockout when Angel was unable to rise off the canvas late in the second round. Next up for Toro Promotions is “King of the West”, in association with Whitfield Haydon, on June 20 at Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Arizona. Toro has matched its top heavyweights, Nigeria-born Kingsley “The Black Lion” Ibeh (16-3-1, 14 KOs), fighting out of Phoenix, and Chandler-based Dante Stone (21-2, 13 KOs), to battle in the 10-round main event for the World Boxing Council (WBC) FECARBOX and the vacant Arizona State heavyweight titles. Ibeh, who previously played collegiate and professional football in the Canadian League, will be defending his WBC FECARBOX championship belt. Stone finished as runner-up in last year’s inaugural WBC Grand Prix championship final held in Saudi Arabia. _________________________________________________________________ Toro fighters’ official results from Mexico : OFFICIAL RESULTS MAIN EVENT – SUPER FEATHERWEIGHTS Nilo Guerrero (12-0, 8 KOs), Managua, Nicaragua WDEC10 (97-93, 97-93, 96-94) Juan Pablo Ramirez (14-5, 2 KOs), Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico (Guerrero retained the WBC FECARBOX lightweight title) CO-FEATURE -- HEAVYWEIGHTS Tsotne Rogava (13-1, 8 KOs), Marina del Rey, California, USA by way of Georgia WDEC8 (80-72, 80-72, 880-72) Mauricio Perez (8-1-1, 6 KOs), Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico SPECIAL LIGHTWEIGHT ATTRACTION Narek Hovhannisyan (4-0, 2 KOs), Los Angeles, California, USA by way of Armenia WTKO2 (2:45) Julian Cady Del Angel (4-2-1, 1 KO), Quintana Roo, Mexico _________________________________________________________________ INFORMATION: Instagram : @ToroPromotionsInc Facebook: #ToroPromotionsInc You Tube: @ToroPromotionsINC X: @ToroPromotions TikTok: @ToroPromo |
