Buhain, Paglumotan to grace SCOOP-Bacolod Induction PhilBoxing.com Sat, 11 Mar 2006 Inspite of the workload at the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) for its scheduled "1st GAB Philippine Annual Boxing Convention" come April 18-21st, 2006 at the Hotel Hyatt and Casino Manila, Chairman Eric R. Buhain and Commissioner Alex A. Paglumotan will be in the "City of Smiles" Bacolod City to be the guest speaker and inducting officer respectively of the SCOOP Bacolod chapter on March 31 at the Casino Filipino Hotel at exactly 7:00 pm. Buhain feels that this is very timely considering the urgent need of the agency to effectively launch a no-nonsense tri-media exposure for its convention, and occassions like this would be a big help. The official communication was signed by Mr.Boy Duran of the MBC-DYEZ local AM station in Bacolod City as the newly elected President of the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines-Bacolod, as its chapter leader in the city. Chairman Buhain accepted the invitation without reservation knowing fully well that Bacolod City is also known for its active and idealistic media personalities. "We are happy to be given such a rare opportunity such as this, and for the GAB agency and its primary roles to be made known all over the countryside," Buhain said in accepting the formal request as the SCOOP Bacolod guest of honor and speaker. Commissioner Paglumotan on the other hand will be its inducting officer for that affair. Expectedly, as the man at the helm of the country's professional sports, Buhain will deliver a speech related to the conduct of the upcoming boxing convention in the City of Manila and its significance as part of the govermental agenda of pro sports development in the Philippines. "We are both happy to be there. Why? Because we need as many fora as the time warrants us, the members of the incumbent Board to articulate the thrust bestowed upon us by the top echelon of the national government," said Paglumotan.  |
